What is Voltage Converter?

Voltage (electric potential difference) is the energy per unit charge between two points. It is the "pressure" that drives electric current through a circuit — analogous to water pressure in a pipe. Without voltage, no current flows.

Volt (V)

The SI derived unit of voltage. One volt drives one ampere through one ohm of resistance.

Millivolt (mV)

One-thousandth of a volt.

Common Uses: Sensor outputs, bioelectrical signals, thermocouples

Conversion: 1 V = 1,000 mV

Kilovolt (kV)

One thousand volts.

Conversion Formulas
