What is Magnetic Field Strength Converter?
Magnetic flux density (B-field) measures the strength of a magnetic field at a given point. It determines the force on moving charges and current-carrying conductors. Strong magnetic fields are central to MRI scanners, electric motors, generators, and particle accelerators.
Understanding the Units
Tesla (T)
The SI derived unit of magnetic flux density. Named after Nikola Tesla.
Common Uses: MRI machines, scientific electromagnets, electric motors
Gauss (G)
The CGS unit of magnetic flux density. 1 gauss = 0.0001 tesla.
Common Uses: Earth's magnetic field, weak field measurements, older literature

Conversion Formulas
