Pixelation Is Not Always Irreversible

Dragging a box over a face and pixelating it removes detail by averaging each block of pixels down to a single colour. Worth knowing: for text and other constrained content, coarse pixelation has been reversed before — the search space is small enough to brute-force. For faces it is effectively permanent, but if you are hiding a licence plate, an account number, or anything else drawn from a limited set of characters, a solid black box is the safer choice, and this tool offers one. Whatever you pick, the export is flattened, so the original pixels are not hiding underneath.
