Conversion Options
Color mode preserves all original colours. Binary produces a pure B&W result.
Spline gives smooth Bézier curves. Polygon is blocky but exact.
Suppress specks smaller than N pixels. Higher = cleaner result; lower = more detail.
Number of significant bits per colour channel. Higher = more colours, larger SVG.
Angle below which a bend is treated as a sharp corner. Lower = sharper corners kept.
Stacked layers paint on top of each other. Cutout punches holes in darker layers.
What Vector Tracing Can and Cannot Do
Tracing reads the shapes in a bitmap and redraws them as vector paths, so the result scales to any size without blurring. It works well on flat artwork — logos, icons, line drawings, screenshots of graphs. It works badly on photographs: a face or a landscape has no clean edges to follow, so the tracer produces thousands of overlapping blobs that are larger than the JPEG you started with and look worse. If your source is a photograph, resize it instead.
Privacy Note
Vector tracing is too heavy for a browser, so this one conversion runs on our server. Your image is uploaded only for the seconds the trace takes and is deleted immediately afterwards — never stored, indexed, or shared.
