GIF TO JPG CONVERTER

Home Image Tools GIF to JPG Converter

Convert a GIF to JPG, taking the first frame of an animation.

Your file is uploaded only for the moment it takes to convert, then deleted from the server straight away. It is never stored, indexed, or shared.

One Frame, No Transparency

JPEG is a single-frame format with no alpha channel, so two things happen here. An animated GIF is reduced to its first frame, which is what you want for a thumbnail or a still and not what you want if the animation was the point. And any transparent area has to be filled, because JPEG cannot record emptiness — this tool composites onto white rather than letting it come out black, which is the default most naive converters fall into.

Privacy Note

This conversion runs on our server. Your file is uploaded only for the seconds the conversion takes and is deleted immediately afterwards — it is never stored, indexed, or shared. Accepted input: GIF, up to 25 MB.

Key Features

  • First frame extracted from animated sources
  • Transparent areas composited onto white, not left to render as black
  • Quality 92 — high enough that JPEG artefacts stay invisible on palette-based sources
  • Use GIF to PNG instead if you need the transparency kept
