How This Conversion Actually Works

Both formats are vector, so the obvious assumption is that the paths move across directly. They do not. This tool renders the EPS to a 300 DPI bitmap and then traces that bitmap into fresh SVG paths, because PostScript and SVG describe curves, gradients and clipping in ways that do not map cleanly onto one another. The practical consequence: the output is scalable and usable, and on flat logos and line art it is very close to the original — but the paths are newly generated, not your originals, and fine detail or subtle gradients will not survive intact. For a true path-level conversion, Illustrator or Inkscape exporting directly to SVG remains the better route.
